NON-TENURE TRACK FACULTY AND PROGRAM SPECIALISTS. 1. General Consideration and Scope A. This article applies to faculty with non-tenure track, full-time teaching positions (referred herein as NTT faculty) or program specialists (referred herein as PS faculty). B. NTT faculty can carry similar responsibilities as other faculty based on teaching and service but, generally, are not required to engage in the scholarship of discovery, integration or application. NTT faculty are, however, generally expected to participate in the scholarship of teaching, learning and engagement. The University has a clear responsibility to provide appropriate support and opportunities for NTT faculty. C. The work of Program Specialist faculty represents faculty work. PS faculty performance in professional responsibilities is equivalent to performance in teaching for purposes of evaluation, and promotion. The University has a clear responsibility to provide appropriate support and opportunities for PS faculty. D. NTT and PS faculty are employed for one academic year only, with the possibility of successive one academic year appointments.
