Common use of Notice to Lay Clause in Contracts

Notice to Lay. off In the event of a proposed lay-off at the Home or the elimination of a position within the Bargaining Unit, the Employer shall: i) Provide the Union with no less than eight (8) weeks written notice of the proposed lay-off or elimination of position and; ii) Provide to the affected Employees written notice of lay-off by hand delivery, registered mail, or pay in lieu thereof. Such notice shall be a minimum of two (2) weeks or as required under the E.S.A., which ever is greater.
