Common use of On-Call Pay Clause in Contracts

On-Call Pay. No employee shall be involuntarily assigned to on-call duty, except for employees in the Information Technology Band. Employees who are on-call during their non- working hours shall be paid in cash or compensatory time-off, at the discretion of the appointing authority, for time actually worked at the rate of one and one-half times their regular hourly pay for hours worked in excess of 35 hours in a work week. However, employees may request the option to receive cash or compensatory time off, in which case the appointing authority shall make every reasonable effort to accommodate the request.
