Other Sick Leave Provisions. Employees who are absent on sick leave for a 2 period in excess of their accrued sick leave shall be allowed to use their accrued 3 vacation, saved holiday, and/or compensatory time to cover such time off. At the option 4 of the employee, the employee may retain up to forty (40) hours of vacation time prior 5 to being placed on leave without pay. Leaves without pay shall be subject to the 6 approval of management.

Each teacher will be notified of the total number of days of sick leave accumulated to his/her credit at the beginning of each school year. In arriving at the daily salary for sick leave computations, the yearly salary shall be divided by the number of days the teacher is required to be on duty.
