Common use of Overload Teaching During Intersession Clause in Contracts

Overload Teaching During Intersession. An Employee may be required to teach one credit course beyond his/her approved instructional load during the intersessional period, but such requirement may be exercised only once during a period of three consecutive academic years. Should an Employee be required to teach during the intersessional period, the instructional load of the Employee shall be reduced by an amount corresponding to the intersessional period instructional load and this shall be done in one of the two semesters following such intersessional period of teaching. Should the instructional load of such an Employee not be capable of reduction, the Employee shall be paid for such intersessional period of teaching at the applicable contract appointment rate in effect at the time of such intersessional period of teaching.
