Common use of OVERTIME AND HOLIDAYS Clause in Contracts

OVERTIME AND HOLIDAYS. A. Time and one-half (1½) shall be paid for all and any work in excess of eight (8) hours of any regular work day and for all time worked on Saturday. Double time shall be paid for all time worked on Sundays and recognized holidays. No work shall be performed on Labor Day except to save life or property. B. The following holidays shall be observed: New Year’s Day Day after Thanksgiving Day Memorial Day Thanksgiving Day Independence Day Christmas Day Labor Day Any holiday which occurs on a Sunday shall be observed the following Monday. If a holiday falls on a day other than a Sunday, it shall be celebrated on that date. C. It is agreed that a contractor cannot shut down a job the day before, and/or the day after a holiday that occurs on a normal day unless it is agreed upon by the majority of all employees working on the job.
