Common use of Overtime on a Holiday Clause in Contracts

Overtime on a Holiday. (a) Where a Nurse is required to work overtime on a paid holiday, as defined in Article 10.18, the Nurse will receive compensation equal to 3.33 times the Nurse’s regular rate as follows: (i) compensation at 2.33 times the Nurse’s regular rate of pay, including the holiday pay, for the hours worked on the holiday; and (ii) time off with pay in lieu of the holiday on an hour for hour basis at a mutually acceptable time subject to Article 10.30. (b) Where time off with pay in lieu of the holiday has not been granted in accordance with Article 10.24 (a)(ii), compensation shall be granted at the Nurse’s regular rate of pay for those hours worked on the holiday.
