Overtime on Public Holidays. Overtime worked on a public holiday shall be paid at twice the ordinary hourly rate of pay (T2). In addition the employee shall be granted an alternative holiday in accordance with the provisions of the Holidays Act (2003).

Overtime on Public Holidays. (a) Where an Employee works overtime on a public holiday, and where the Employee's work hours are continuous with their ordinary hours (i.e. immediately following or preceding their ordinary hours), overtime shall be paid at the rate of double time and a half (2.5X). For example, if an afternoon shift Employee is required to work an 8 hour shift which concludes at midnight on a normal work day, followed by overtime which concludes at 2.00 am on a public holiday, then the Employee will be paid at the rate of double time and a half (2.5X) from midnight until 2.00 am.
Overtime on Public Holidays. If an employee is required to work on a public holiday the ordinary hours usually worked on that day shall be paid at the rate of ‘time and one half’ for all hours worked and ‘ordinary time’ for all hours not worked. In addition to this payment an employee shall also receive a day in lieu of the public holiday to be taken on a mutually agreed day or payment equal to the ordinary hours usually worked on that day. All time worked in excess of or outside of the usual working hours in any one day on a public holiday shall be paid at the rate of ‘double time and one half’ and it shall be the maximum penalty payable.
