Common use of Paid Sick Leave Accumulation Clause in Contracts

Paid Sick Leave Accumulation. Each bargaining unit member shall accrue paid sick leave at the rate of eight (8) days per year (July 1 -June 30), with unlimited accumulation. Bargaining unit members shall receive all eight (8) days on the first work day of each school year. Bargaining unit members who are initially employed or transfer into the bargaining unit after September 1 shall be granted for the balance of that school year eight tenths (8/10) of one sick leave day as there are full month remaining in the year. For purpose of this Article, a “day” is equal to the number of regularly scheduled hours the bargaining unit member works during a work week divided by five (5). A statement of accumulated leave days will be included on each regular pay stub.
