Common use of Participant Support Costs Clause in Contracts

Participant Support Costs. a. Participant support costs are direct costs for items such as stipends or subsistence allowances, travel allowances and registration fees paid to or on behalf of participants or trainees (but not employees) in connection with meetings, conferences, symposia or training projects. (See also GPM Section 618.) Awardee organizations must account for participant support costs separately. Note: No indirect costs may be charged against participant support costs (See GPM Section 633.2). b. Funds provided for participant support may not be used by awardees for other categories of expense without the specific prior written approval of the cognizant NSF Program Officer.
