Common use of Pay for Work Performed in Higher Classifications Clause in Contracts

Pay for Work Performed in Higher Classifications. When an employee is assigned to perform the work required of the higher classification for eight (8) hours or more, the employee shall be paid the rate of pay for hours worked in such classification. Pre-approval by the Department Director or designee shall be required except for cases of emergency. Compensation for working out of class shall not result in any rights to a permanent reclassification.
