Payment for Lost or Stolen Tools. Par. 1. The Company agrees that they should make every effort to provide a reasonably safe place for tools and likewise the employee shall make every effort to protect not only his own tools but also to protect the Company tools. The Company and the local union agree to jointly reimburse Elevator Constructor Mechanics, Elevator Constructor Helpers, Elevator Constructor Apprentices and Elevator Constructor Assistant Mechanics for tools lost on the job or stolen while in transit or stolen from any vehicle being used by the employee on the following basis:
