Personal Business Day. On April 01 of each fiscal year, one (1) day (eight (8) hours) of paid leave will be credited to employees for use in personal or special circumstances. At no time will an employee have a credit of more than ten (10) Personal Business Days. The granting of such personal leave will be subject to normal approval by supervision subject to operational requirements, and will not be unreasonably withheld. Upon termination of employment with the Company, unused day(s) will be paid off at the employee's current salary in effect at the time.

Personal Business Day. 1. An employee with seniority is eligible for two (2) paid days of business leave in each school year, July 1 to June 30. A request for such leave must be made in writing at least twenty-four (24) hours in advance; not more than three (3) employees will be allowed to be absent on the same day, and no business day will be granted the day before or the day after a holiday unless the employee proves that the business cannot be delayed to some other day. Such time must be taken in at least three (3) hour increments. A personal business day can only be used for business that cannot be done at any other time. To use the personal business days, the employee will submit to the supervisor a personal business day request form. Personal business days will not be charged against sick time. If unused, these personal days would become part of the employee's accumulated sick leave.
Personal Business Day. Each full-time bargaining unit member shall receive two (2) eight (8) hour Personal Business Days per vacation year to conduct personal business that cannot be conducted outside of the regular workday. Personal Business Days may be used in increments of four (4) hours. Part-time members shall receive one (1) four (4) hour Personal Business Day subject to the provisions herein. The days shall not accumulate. If notice is given at least forty-eight (48) hours in advance, no reason needs to be stated, and no documentation will be required. If notice of less than forty-eight (48) hours is given, the leave may be approved at the discretion of the Appointing Authority or designee. The days shall have no cash-out value. A Personal Business Day can be used the day before or the day after a holiday. The use of a Personal Business Day is subject to the usual operational need requirement.
Personal Business Day. Call in procedure shall be similar to sick days. Notification will be given at the time as to whether it will be one or more days.
Personal Business Day. Each teacher’s leave bank will include four personal business days to be used yearly without approval of the administration. The request for a personal business day will be made, three (3) work days in advance by the teacher except in cases of emergency. Personal business days cannot be used for time immediately before or after an established holiday or vacation period during the school year or before summer recess. Requests for a day before or after a holiday or vacation period must be submitted to the Human Resources Administrator at least five (5) work days prior to the requested absence. All approvals will be without pay except to attend a wedding, to participate in graduation, or to assist in moving a child/dependent to a college or university. The decision of the Human Resources Administrator will be final. Personal business days may be taken during the first five (5) days of the school year upon approval of the Human Resources Administrator for the following reasons: to attend a wedding, to participate in a graduation, or to assist in moving a child/dependent to a college or university. The Human Resources Administrator may also grant personal business days for other reasons at his/her discretion. No personal business day will be granted during the first instructional day for students. Teachers are highly encouraged to work on this day; however, if the day is requested and approved for one of the reasons or at the discretion of the Human Resources Administrator, the approval for this particular absence will be without pay. Requests for personal business days during the first five days of school must be submitted at least five (5) workdays prior to the requested absence. Up to 15 requests will be granted, on a first come first serve basis, provided there are sufficient substitutes available; however, at the discretion of the Human Resources Administrator, additional requests may be granted. All personal business days approved during this time will be charged to the employee’s personal leave bank. The decision of the Human Resources Administrator to approve or deny personal business days during the first five (5) days of the school year is final. Each teacher will contribute one-half (1/2) of one day from his/her leave bank to establish a Personal Business Bank to be administered by the PCEA (maximum of 500 days). Personal Business Day. 1. All transportation personnel shall be entitled to two (2) days absence per school year with pay, for the expressed purpose of transacting personal business. Personnel shall submit this request not less than two (2) work days prior to the date requested for leave. The transportation coordinator must give written approval.
2. A personal business day is a day allowed for the employee to transact personal business that could not be done at any other time and may not be used on days immediately preceding or following a holiday or vacation period.
3. Unused personal business days will be converted to sick leave on July 1.

Each July 1 an employee who is regularly scheduled to work 3.5 hours or more per day shall be granted two (2) paid personal business leave days for attending to business which cannot be done during non-work hours. Employees hired after January 1 will not receive a personal business day for the remainder of that school year. Paraprofessionals who have five (5) or more years of seniority, as of July 1, of the given year shall be granted a third paid personal business day. Paraprofessionals who have ten (10) or more years of seniority shall be granted a fourth paid personal business day. At the end of each school year, each employee will have the option to be compensated for any unused personal days at the rate of $60.00 per day, prorated for employees working less than full-time. This payout will occur on the second pay in June for 10 month employees and on the first payroll in July for 12 month employees and must be requested by the employee in writing. Notice of personal business leave request on a form developed by the district shall be given a minimum of two (2) days in advance of the requested leave date. Exceptions to the two (2) day advance notification may be granted by the Administration for emergency situations or extenuating circumstances. .
