- PERSONAL BUSINESS LEAVE Two. (2) days per year beyond the sick leave allowance shall be granted each July 1st and may be used for personal business. Personal business leave shall be used only for the purpose of conducting business, which is difficult to transact outside of normal working hours. It is understood that personal business leave shall not be used for recreational purposes, or to extend a holiday, weekend and/or vacation. Custodians shall be granted personal business leave on written notification to the Deputy Superintendent for Human Resources and Support Services at least three (3) working days in advance of the anticipated absence. In cases of unanticipated need for personal business leave, the custodian shall apply as soon as possible. It is understood that such leave shall not be used for recreation purposes or to extend a holiday and/or vacation. In the event of an emergency requiring personal business leave prior to or following such holiday and/or vacation, the custodian shall state the reason for the leave. Custodians shall assume the responsibility of notifying the Facilities Office immediately upon receiving approval to use a personal business day. Personal business days not used during the school year will be added to and accrued as sick leave days at the beginning of the following year.
