Common use of PERSONAL/UNPAID Clause in Contracts

PERSONAL/UNPAID. Leave of absence without pay may be granted by the Court upon written application by a regular employee. Such leave without pay may be granted for a period not to exceed six (6) months. Requests for periods of unpaid leave in excess of six (6) months may be made to the CAO or designee. The request shall specify the dates of the leave. The Employer shall be allowed to fill the position temporarily with the understanding that the employee may return and the temporary hire will be displaced. Employees on leave without pay shall be allowed to continue insurance coverage for a period of six (6) months through the Employer's plan by paying the premium. For insurance coverage beyond the six (6) months, employees should contact the Employer to determine availability of insurance coverage.
