Placement Upon Return From Leave. An Employee returning to work from leave granted under this Article shall be placed in their former position or, if that position no longer exists, a similar position. If such employment is not available, Article 33 shall apply.
Placement Upon Return From Leave a. An employee who has been on leave for two years or less may request a return to service at a time other than the start of a school year by applying for vacancies and being selected through the site-based hiring process. If there is no assignment available through the site-based process, the employee may substitute at substitute pay. If no assignment is available and the employee has made the request to return to service before March 1, the employee will be placed in the displacement pool for the upcoming school year. An employee on leave or returning from leave is subject to Reduction In Force provisions.
Placement Upon Return From Leave. Subject to Article 15.05, a Teacher returning from a Leave plan will return to an equivalent position in a secondary school operated by the Board.
Placement Upon Return From Leave a. Upon return from extended leave, the employee will return to the same position, so long as the leave did not exceed one (1) school year. In cases where the employee would be displaced from the building during spring staffing (ratified by the staff through the decision- making process), the employee may apply for vacancies and be selected through the site- based hiring process. If there is no assignment available through the site-based process, the employee may substitute at substitute pay.
Placement Upon Return From Leave. Although the employee will return to a position in the same job classification, there is no guarantee that the employee will return to the same assignment.
Placement Upon Return From Leave. An employee requesting to return to duty at the beginning of the next school year will be placed in a similar position within the District, subject to application of Article 9 (Layoff and Recall) and/or Article 4 (Assignment and Transfer). However, the District is not obligated to place a teacher returning from leave of absence in the building where s/he previously taught, or at the same level (elementary) or subject area (secondary).
