Point of Interconnection (POI). A Point of Interconnection (POI) is a point where the Parties deliver traffic to each other, and also serves as a demarcation point between the Party’s facilities. The POI also establishes the interface, the test point, and the operational responsibility hand-off between Sprint and CenturyTel for the interconnection of their respective networks. The Point of Interconnection for purposes of Sections 251(c)(2) and 251(c)(3) remains on the Local Exchange Carrier’s network.

Pseudo-ANI (pANI): A ten digit number that is used in place of ANI for E911 call routing and the delivery of dynamic ALI information (e.g., to identify a wireless cell, cell sector, or PSAP to which the call should be routed). For purposes to this Agreement, references to pANI shall include Emergency Services Query Key (ESQK), Emergency Services Routing Digit (ESRD) and Emergency Service Routing Key (ESRK), as appropriate. Public Safety Answering Point (PSAP): An entity to whom authority has been lawfully delegated to respond to public emergency telephone calls originating in a defined geographic area, and may include public safety agencies such as police, fire, emergency medical, etc., or a common bureau serving a group of such entities. A PSAP may act as a primary or secondary, which refers to the order in which calls are directed for answering. Primary PSAP is the PSAP to which 911 calls are routed directly from the Selective Router and Secondary PSAPs receive calls transferred from the primary PSAP.
