Political Risk and Catastrophe Evacuation. Coverage
1. The Company shall reimburse the insured, the cost of travel expenses to the country of residence or nearest place of safety up to the cost of an economy class air ticket (one way) and reasonable accommodation expenses , if incurred for a maximum of 7 days or sum insured specified in the policy certificate if insured is unable to return to his country of residence when Officials in the country where insured is visiting , recommend that certain categories of persons which include the Insured should leave the country , or
2. Insured is expelled from or declared person non grata in the country he/she is in.
3. A Catastrophe (fire, flood, earthquake, Tsunami, Volcano Eruption, Xxxxx, hurricane or epidemic due to contagious disease) has occurred in the country the insured is in, necessitating his immediate evacuation in order to avoid risk of personal injury or illness to himself
4. In event of any of the contingencies covered hereunder occurring at the place Insured is visiting any time after the commencement of the trip and before the termination of the same, immediate notice thereof shall be given by insured to Emergency Assistance Service provider or the Insurance Company.
Political Risk and Catastrophe Evacuation. We will reimburse the insured up to the Sum Insured as specified in the Policy Schedule for:
i. The cost of Insured's return to the Country of Residence or the nearest place of safety up to the cost of an economy class air ticket for the same.
ii. Reasonable and Customary Charges incurred by the Insured for his/her accommodation at the nearest place of safety for a maximum of 7 days or upto the Sum Insured as mentioned in the Policy Schedule, if the Insured is unable to return to the Country of Residence at the time of happening of any of the contingencies mentioned below If whilst the Insured is on the Trip covered within the Period of Insurance and: • Officials in the country where Insured is visiting, recommend that certain categories of persons which include the Insured should leave the country, or • Insured is expelled from or declared persona non grata in the Country he is in, or • A catastrophe (fire, flood, earthquake, storm, lightning, explosion, hurricane or epidemic due to contagious disease) has occurred in the Country the Insured is in, necessitating his immediate evacuation in order to avoid risk of personal Injury or Illness to himself. We will not be liable to pay for losses arising from or attributable to the following:
1. Insured violating the laws or regulations of the country from which he is to be evacuated.
2. Failure to produce or maintain immigration, work, residence or similar visas, permits or other documentation.

When, in the opinion of the Assistance Service Provider, it is Judged that for the Insured Person’s safety it is recommended to return to the Country of Residence / City of Residence or the nearest place of safety, the Assistance Service Provider will make arrangements or provide for a cost of a direct route economy class air fare for the same (one way) or hotel accommodation for the below mentioned conditions
(i) Officials of embassy of the Country of Residence of the Insured in writing recommend, or a notification is issued by the Government of the city where Insured is visiting, that people, which include the Insured should leave the city, or
(ii) A catastrophe (fire, flood, earthquake, storm, lightning, explosion, hurricane or epidemic due to contagious disease) has occurred in the City the Insured is in, necessitating his immediate evacuation in order to avoid risk of personal Injury or Illness to himself/herself.
Political Risk and Catastrophe Evacuation. We shall indemnify the Insured Person for the actual expenses necessarily incurred by the Insured Person whilst on a Trip during the Period of Insurance to return to the Country of Residence or the nearest place of safety for one of the following reasons, up to the cost of a direct route economy class air fare for the same (one way) or hotel accommodation up to a maximum of 7 days for a limit as specified in the Policy Schedule/Certificate of Insurance:
(i) Officials of embassy of the Country of Residence of the Insured Person in writing recommend, or a notification is issued by the Government of the city where Insured Person is visiting, that people, which include the Insured Person should leave the city, or
(ii) A catastrophe (fire, flood, earthquake, storm, lightning, explosion, hurricane or epidemic due to contagious disease) has occurred in the city in which the Insured Person is in, necessitating his/her immediate evacuation to avoid risk of personal Injury or Illness to himself/herself. Any Claim in respect of any Insured Person for, arising out of or directly or indirectly due to any of the following shall not be admissible under this Benefit unless expressly stated to the contrary elsewhere in the Policy terms and conditions:
i) The Insured Person violating the laws or regulations of the city/country from which he is to be evacuated or deported or declared as a person non-grata.
ii) Failure to produce or maintain immigration, work, residence, or similar visas, permits or other documentation.
iii) Failure to honour any contractual obligation or bond or to obey any conditions in a license.
iv) If the Geographical Scope specified in the Policy Schedule/Certificate of Insurance is out of India, the Insured Person is a national of the country from which he/she is to be evacuated and if Geographical Scope specified in the Policy Schedule/Certificate of Insurance is within India, the Insured Person is a resident of the city from which he/she is to be evacuated.
v) Circumstances that resulted in the Insured Person’s evacuation being in existence prior to the Insured Person entering the city /country or their occurrence being foreseeable to a reasonable person before the Insured Person entered the country/ city by the way of sources such as travel advisories issued by competent / Government authority(s) etc.
