Pregnancy/Parental Leaves. a) Pregnancy Leave of Absence of up to 17 weeks shall be available to a Teacher in accordance with the terms of the Employment Standards Act. For the purpose of clarity, it is agreed that these Leaves apply to all Teachers who have started employment with the Board at least thirteen (13) weeks before the expected birth date. b) Pursuant to the terms of the Act, a Teacher should notify the Principal of the pregnancy and submit an application for leave along with a medical certificate verifying the pregnancy and indicating the day on which delivery is expected.
