Procedure for Filing Grievances. ‌ Both parties recognize and endorse the importance of establishing a prompt, fair, and efficient mechanism for the orderly resolution of complaints and agree to use their best efforts to encourage the prompt settlement of such matters. Both parties encourage the resolution of complaints before they become formal grievances. It is understood that nothing in this procedure will limit the existing right of an individual member of the Association to communicate with any person having administrative authority for the purpose of informal resolution of a complaint. Within ten (10) work days of the date a grievance occurs or a grievable act becomes known, the grievant(s) shall discuss the grievance with his or her immediate supervisor individually, or together with his or her Association Representative with the objective of resolving the matter informally. Any settlement, withdrawal or disposition satisfactory to the grievant(s) of a complaint at this informal stage will be a final resolution of the particular complaint. If the grievance is not resolved through the informal procedure above, the following procedure shall apply in the handling and processing of a formal grievance:
