Procedures for Appointments - General Provisions. 4.01 All appointments are made by the Board of Governors upon the recommendation of the President. 4.02 Where a Selection Committee is to be appointed the Committee shall include at least five librarians who hold confirmed appointments, including two administrative librarians and two general librarians and, who if practicable, work in the area in which the librarian is, or will be, employed. The Chair shall be elected from within the Committee. The recommendation of the Selection Committee shall be that of a majority. The Head shall participate in the work of the Committee but shall not vote. 4.03 It is expected that confidentiality will be respected by all those participating in the consultations.

The recommendation of the Selection Committee shall be that of a majority. The Head to whom the librarian reports shall also participate in the work of the Committee but shall not vote.
