Prohibited Discharges. A. KLN shall not discharge or cause to be discharged to the Waste Water System or Plant any pollutants that are reasonably likely to cause pass through, or interfere with the Plant’s treatment technology, or cause a violation of the Permit.
B. Specifically, KLN shall not discharge or cause to be discharged any of the following described wastes or wastewater:
1) Stormwater, groundwater, or flow from roof runoff, subsurface drainage, downspouts, yard drains, yard fountain drains, swimming pools, or lawn sprays into any sanitary sewer. Stormwater and all other unpolluted drainage from KLN’s facility is governed by MPCA stormwater regulations.

3) Any water or wastes which contain wax, grease or oil, plastic or other substance in excess of the applicable Base Load Limits that will solidify or become discernibly viscous at temperatures between 32 degrees to 104 degrees Fahrenheit.
4) Any solids, liquids or gases which may cause fire or explosion hazards, or that may be injurious to persons, property, or the operator of Waste Water System or Plant, including, but not limited to waste streams with a closed cup flashpoint of not less than 140 degrees Fahrenheit (60 degrees Celsius) using test methods specified in 40 CFR 261.21.
5) Any solids, slurries, or viscous substances in excess of the applicable Base Load Limits and in such volumes and of such character as to be capable of causing obstruction to the flow in Waste Water System or other interference with the proper operation of the Waste Water System or Plant, such as ashes, sand, mud, straw, shavings, metal, glass, rags, feathers, tar, plastics, wood, whole blood, manure, hair and fleshing's, entrails, lime slurry, lime residues, chemical residues, or bulk solids.

F. Any animal hair, ashes, cinders, sand, mud, straw, wood or metal shavings, metal, glass, rags, feathers, tar, plastics, wood, manure or any other solid or viscous substance capable of causing obstruction to the flow in the Sewage Collection System or other interference with the proper operation of the Sewage Collection System.

H. Any waters or wastes containing a toxic or poisonous substance in sufficient quantity to injure or interfere with any sewage treatment process, constitute a hazard to humans or animals, create any hazard in the receiving waters of the sewer system or cause the treatment plant's effluent to fail a toxicity test. Toxic wastes shall include, but not be limited to, wastes containing cyanide, lead, copper and/or chromium ions.
I. Any noxious or malodorous gas or substance capable of creating a public nuisance, a hazard to life or to prevent entry into the sewers for maintenance and/or which may cause acute worker health and safety problems.
