Common use of Promotion and Transfers Clause in Contracts

Promotion and Transfers. In the event an employee is promoted or transferred to a higher-rated position, the employee shall be considered to be on trial for a period of not more than sixty (60) working days. Upon promotion or transfer the employee shall receive the classification rate or the salary range rate immediately above the employee's previous salary rate. If at the end of the trial period the employee is not considered satisfactory in the higher-rated position, the employee shall be returned to the employee's previous position without loss of seniority. It is agreed that the time limit mentioned herein may be extended by mutual agreement.
