Common use of Public Holiday Clause in Contracts

Public Holiday. If and when an employee is required to work on any public holiday, he shall be paid an additional day's pay for the actual contractual hours of work on that day even though the work required of the employee on that day is less than the contractual hours of work. If the work is in excess of the contractual hours on that day, then the payment shall be at a rate of one and a half times for the number of hours worked in excess of the contractual hours.
