Qualifications at Time of Hiring. 14.2.2.1 The minimum placement upon hiring shall be step 1. 14.2.2.2 Additional steps shall be awarded as follows: 1. one (1) step for a Masters degree directly related to the discipline to be taught; 2. two (2) steps for a Doctoral degree directly related to the discipline to be taught, or one step for a doctoral degree when a masters degree is also held; 3. one (1) step for a valid teaching certificate, or successful completion of the Faculty member's Diploma Program, or accreditation as a technician or technologist; 4. one (1) step for any additional trade qualifications when required for the position.
