Common use of Recognition of Courses Clause in Contracts

Recognition of Courses. (a) Where a teacher has notified the Employer in writing, by October 1 of any school year, that he/she is expecting a change in category or qualifications based on courses completed prior to September 1, the increased salary will be paid retroactive to September 1 of the same year, on receipt of documentary evidence on or before November 30 of the same school year or such other date as the documentary evidence is received, providing the teacher is able to support his/her contention that the delay in presenting the documents was not as a result of any dilatoriness on his/her part. (b) Where a teacher has notified the Employer in writing, by March 1 of any school year, that he/she is expecting a change in category qualifications based on courses completed prior to January 1 of the same year, the increased salary will be paid retroactive to January 1 of the same year, on receipt of the documentary evidence on or before April 30 of the same school year, or such other date as the documentary evidence is received, providing the teacher is able to support his/her contention that the delay in presenting the documents was not as a result of any dilatoriness on his/her part.
