Relief Charge Nurse. A nurse who is temporarily assigned the duties of 5 a charge nurse when a charge nurse is absent for any reason.
Relief Charge Nurse. A Nurse who has been trained to assume the duties of Charge Nurse, and is assigned by the Medical Center on a temporary basis to the position of Charge Nurse when no supervisor or Charge Nurse is performing that role. Any nurse who is trained to a relief charge nurse position must have a minimum of nine (9) months experience, unless the nurse signs a written consent to train as a charge nurse earlier.
Relief Charge Nurse. A nurse who is assigned by the Medical Center to assist and coordinate in the continuity of patient care responsibilities and clinical activities of an organized nursing unit, including providing patient care. The Medical Center will identify nurses who are willing to voluntarily assume the role of relief charge nurse on an on-going basis. The parties acknowledge, however, that there may be unusual and infrequent situations when the Medical Center will assign such duties to other nurses.
Relief Charge Nurse. Nurses who are assigned duties routinely performed by 19 charge nurses, or who are assigned duties routinely performed by managers or 20 supervisors, shall be deemed to be performing the duties of a relief charge nurse. 21 The selection of nurses to perform relief charge nurse assignments shall be in 22 the sole discretion of management. Such assignment shall require the consent 23 of the nurse, unless there is no other qualified available nurse.
Relief Charge Nurse. An RN from a unit and shift designated to perform unit functions normally performed by the unit's Team Leader, in the following circumstances:
Relief Charge Nurse. A staff nurse who serves as Charge Nurse as needed 21 for less than half their FTE.
Relief Charge Nurse. A nurse who is assigned by the Medical Center 9 to assist and coordinate in the continuity of patient care 10 responsibilities and clinical activities of an organized nursing unit, 11 including providing patient care. The Medical Center will identify 12 nurses who are willing to voluntarily assume the role of relief charge 13 nurse on an on-going basis. The parties acknowledge, however, that 14 there may be unusual and infrequent situations when the Medical 15 Center will assign such duties to other nurses.
Relief Charge Nurse. A nurse who has been temporarily assigned duties to 5 assist the unit leadership in the administration of an organized nursing unit, but 6 who does not carry a twenty-four (24) hour responsibility for the unit. The 7 Hospital in its sole discretion may from time to time assign any qualified nurse 8 the additional duties of relief charge nurse. Nurses acting as relief charge nurse 9 retain their regular position and remain in the bargaining unit.
Relief Charge Nurse. 20 A relief charge nurse is a staff nurse who is scheduled or designated in 21 charge when a Charge Nurse is either not scheduled or is practicing in 22 another capacity. Relief charge assignment is voluntary, provided another 23 scheduled qualified nurse is available. A nurse shall not be required to work 24 a relief charge assignment for more than twenty-five percent (25%) of the 25 nurse’s scheduled monthly hours without the nurse’s consent. 26
Relief Charge Nurse. A staff nurse whom Hospital may, if and when it 22 deems appropriate, assign to be in charge of a designated shift(s) of an 23 organized nursing unit(s). This provision includes positions with other 24 titles (such as Lead Nurse or Shift Coordinator) when assigned by 25 Hospital to be in charge of a designated shift(s) of an organized Hospital 27 shall not challenge the bargaining unit status of nurses who perform this 28 work or assert that nurses who perform Relief Charge Nurse functions are 29 supervisors and thus ineligible for Association representation.
