Right to Join and Support Association. Employees shall have the right to self-organization, to form, join or assist the Association, to bargain collectively. The Board shall not discriminate against any employee by reason of membership in the Association, participation in any grievances, complaints of proceeding under this Agreement.
Right to Join and Support Association. Employees of the District who are represented by the Association shall have the right to freely organize, join, and support the Association for the purpose of engaging in negotiations or processing grievances. The District will not directly or indirectly discriminate against any employee by reason of membership in the association, or by reason of participation in any grievances, complaints, or proceedings covered under this agreement.
Right to Join and Support Association. A. Pursuant to the Act, every employee has the right to freely organize, join and support the Association for the purpose of engaging in collective bargaining. Membership in the Association shall not be required as a condition of employment.
B. The Board agrees that it will not discriminate against any employee with respect to hours, wages, or terms or conditions of employment by reason of his/her membership in the Association, his/her participation in any activities of the Association or collective bargaining with the Board, of his/her institution of any grievance, complaint or proceeding under this Agreement or otherwise with respect to any terms or conditions of employment.

The District will inform all those newly employed contracted certificated personnel at the time of their employment that the Association is their bargaining representative.

Employees shall also have the right to refrain from any and all such activities, except to the extent required elsewhere in this Agreement. The District shall not discriminate against any employee in regard to hiring, tenure of employment, or any term or condition of employment as a result of: (a) Membership in the Association; (b) Participation in any activities of the Association or collective bargaining; or (c) Institution of any grievance, complaint or proceeding under this Agreement, so long as such matters are in accordance with this Agreement and the law.

Employees as defined in Article 4 shall have the right to freely organize, join and support the Association for the purpose of engaging in negotiations and other concerted activities for mutual aid and protection, provided that such activities shall not be in violation of the provisions of Article 10, Section A. Neither the District nor the Association shall directly or indirectly discourage or deprive or coerce any certificated employee in the enjoyment of any rights conferred or protected by the statutes and constitution of the State of Washington and the United States; that neither will discriminate against any certificated employee with respect to any terms or conditions of employment by reason of membership or lack of the Association, their participation in any grievances, complaint or proceeding under this Agreement, or otherwise with respect to any terms or conditions of employment.

Each employee subject to this Agreement shall have and shall be protected in the right to freely organize, join and support the Association for the purpose of engaging in collective bargaining, negotiations, mutual aid, and protection or institution of grievance proceedings under this Agreement without fear of penalty or reprisal.
