Rate of Pay as set out in the Salary Schedule shall be applicable to all Employees covered by this Collective Agreement, effective on the dates specified therein.\n37.02 An Employee\u2019s Basic Rate of Pay shall be advanced to the next higher rate following:\n(a) in the case of a Full-time Employee, one (1) year of service;\n(b) in the case of a Part-time Employee, the completion of the Unless otherwise changed by the operations of the terms of this Collective Agreement, a Regular Part-time Employee who has had a change in status to a Regular Full-time Employee within the same classification shall have their anniversary date established based on hours worked with the Employer at the salary increment level such Employee was entitled to receive immediately prior to their change in status.\n37.03 Upon verification of a new Employee having job specific and relevant experience within the preceding twelve (12) months, the Employee\u2019s starting salary may be adjusted one (1) salary increment for each full year of experience, up to the top increment of the pay range.\n37.04 The salary of an Employee reclassified, promoted, or transferred to a higher classification shall be advanced to the start rate of the higher classification. Where the start rate of the higher classification does not provide at least a three percent (3%) increase to their current rate, the Employee's salary shall be advanced to the next step of the higher classification that provides an increase of at least three percent (3%) provided this does not exceed the top step of the classification. When the Employee's salary is advanced to the higher classification, it shall be advanced to the next step after a period of time has elapsed equal to the agreed time period between pay steps for the higher classification.\n37.05 When an Employee is reclassified, promoted, or transferred to a classification with the same end rate as their present classification, such Employee shall move to the pay step which is equal to their present Basic Rate of Pay, or if there is no such pay step, they shall move to the pay step that has a Basic Rate of Pay that is next higher to their present Basic Rate of Pay. on the dates specified therein.\n(a) Upon obtaining designation as an Alberta Registered Psychiatric Nurse:\n(i) a newly graduated nurse shall be paid the rate applicable to a Registered Psychiatric Nurse, retroactive to the date of successfully writing her or his registration examinations or the Employee\u2019s most recent date of employment, whichever is later; and\n(ii) in all other cases, a nurse who is not registered on the date of employment and who subsequently is successful in obtaining registration shall be paid the rate applicable to a Registered Psychiatric Nurse, retroactive to the date of filing proof of application for Alberta Registration with the Employer or the Employee\u2019s most recent date of employment, whichever is later.\n(b) Upon becoming registered by the College and Association of Registered Nurses of Alberta, a Temporary Permit Holder (TPH):\n(i) if newly graduated from a basic nursing education program approved by the Nursing Education Program Approval Board (NEPAB), or one who has satisfied the College and Association of Registered Nurses of Alberta that the Employee has completed a training program substantially equivalent to a NEPAB-approved nursing education program shall be paid the rate applicable to a Registered Nurse, retroactive to the date of successfully writing the Employee\u2019s course registration - examination or the Employee\u2019s most recent date of employment, whichever is later; and\n(ii) in all other cases, a Temporary Permit Holder who has applied for issuance of an annual certificate pursuant to the Health Professions Act and Regulations, and who subsequently qualifies to have her or his name entered into the register of registered nurses, shall be paid the rate applicable to a Registered Nurse. Such payment will be retroactive to the date the temporary permit was issued unless the Employee had to write the examination more than once, in which case it will only be retroactive to the date the examination was successfully written.\n25.03 Where the Employer establishes a new classification within the scope of this Collective Agreement or where a position is placed within the bargaining unit by a decision of the Labour Relations Board, the rates of pay applicable shall be subject to negotiation between the parties. Where mutual agreement is not obtained concerning the rates of pay, this matter shall be referred to Arbitration as provided within this Collective Agreement. An Arbitration Board in such a case shall have the power to establish a rate of pay for the classification in question.\n25.04 Where the Employer has in place a system of depositing pay cheques in a bank on behalf of Employees, all Employees shall participate, providing that the deposit shall be made to the financial institution of the Employee\u2019s choice no later than 0800 on the designated pay day.\n25.05 Except where payroll cheques or slips are distributed directly to the Employee by the payroll office, the Employer shall issue such cheques or slips in a manner which holds private information on such documents.\n25.06 The Employee\u2019s payroll cheque stub shall display the purpose and amount of each item of income to the extent that the Employer\u2019s accounting system is capable.
