SALARY SACRIFICE ARRANGEMENTS. 34.1 Employees covered by this Agreement will have access to salary sacrifice arrangements in addition to the compulsory arrangement detailed above. The requirements of any such arrangements shall ensure that: (a) Accessing a salary sacrifice arrangement is a voluntary decision to be made by the individual Employee. (b) An Employee wishing to enter into a salary sacrifice arrangement will be required to notify their Employer in writing of the intention to do so and have sought expert advice in relation to entering into such an arrangement. (c) The Employer shall meet the cost of implementing the administrative and payroll arrangements necessary for the introduction of salary sacrifice to the Employees under the Agreement. (d) The co-contribution of superannuation payments referred to herein shall be made by way of salary sacrifice arrangements.

SALARY SACRIFICE ARRANGEMENTS. Voluntary access to salary sacrifice arrangements will be made available to employees in accordance with ACTPS policies and guidelines.
SALARY SACRIFICE ARRANGEMENTS. 5.6.1 Salary Sacrificing under this Agreement allows the employee to voluntarily elect to receive a component, which will not exceed the maximum gross figure, as prescribed by the Australian Tax Office (ATO) from time to time, of their remuneration in a form other than take home pay. 5.6.2 Where an employee enters into a salary sacrifice arrangement with UC the employee will indemnify UC against any taxation liability arising from that arrangement. 5.6.3 UC will nominate a provider of salary sacrificing services to manage these arrangements. The employee will be responsible for the costs of managing these arrangements by the provider. 5.6.4 UC will meet the cost of implementing the administrative and payroll arrangements necessary for the introduction of salary sacrifice to the employees under this agreement. 5.6.5 The employees will be offered the opportunity to choose from the list of benefits at point 5.6.7 of this Clause, which will be paid by the Employer, through the provider of the service, instead of receiving gross salary. Gross salary is reduced by the amount of the benefits paid by UC. The new gross salary is then subject to PAYG tax. 5.6.6 All existing entitlements such as superannuation, leave loading, penalties and overtime etc., will be based on the pre-packaged salary. 5.6.7 The employees covered under this Agreement will have access to salary sacrifice arrangements subject to the following provisions: (a) Accessing a salary sacrifice arrangement is a voluntary decision to be made by the individual employee. (b) The employee wishing to enter into a salary sacrifice arrangement will be required to sign a document which indicates that: • they have sought expert advice in relation to entering into such an arrangement and; • they understand that in the event that Fringe Benefits Tax (FBT) becomes payable on the benefit items which are selected, the salary sacrifice arrangement shall lapse and a new arrangement be put in place whereby the total cost of salary sacrificing to UC does not increase. • If the employee elects to continue with sacrificing, the cost of the payment of the FBT will be passed back to the employee, or benefit items can be converted back to the agreed salary as per this Agreement. • that upon resignation or termination of employment the Employer will be, by deduction from final payments or upon demand, reimbursed any amounts of over-expenditure. 5.6.8 Benefits available to be packaged are as defined in this Clause. SALARY SACRIFICE ARRANGEMENTS. The Employer has or may at some stage introduce a salary sacrifice arrangement. Under this arrangement some or all of the Executive’s pension contributions payable to the Scheme from time to time (which may at the Employer’s discretion include both regular or mandatory contributions or voluntary contributions) are currently or will be paid on the Executive’s behalf by the Employer in return for a reduction in the Executive’s salary (although pension and life cover benefits will be calculated without regard to this reduction). By signing and/or entering into this contract the Executive has agreed to this reduction. The Executive is therefore automatically a member of the salary sacrifice scheme (if one is already in place) or alternatively will join the salary sacrifice arrangement if it is introduced unless the Executive chooses to opt out as permitted under the terms of the salary sacrifice arrangement.

SALARY SACRIFICE ARRANGEMENTS. In accordance with the applicable legislation, an Employee prior to each anniversary date who has an existing Personal/Carer’s leave entitlement of 350 hours or more Personal/Carer’s leave can elect to transfer the total Personal/Xxxxx’s leave entitlement for the coming calendar year to their superannuation fund. The monetary amount will be 3 weeks of the Base Salary provided in clause 11.1 of this Agreement at the before taxvalue.
