Salary Upon Promotion. When an employee is permanently assigned to a position of higher salary than a previous class, the salary shall be adjusted to the minimum of Step 1 of the new wage provided, however, if the salary minimum of the new range is lower than existing salary, the employee shall be moved to the next higher step in the range in order to provide at least a 5% salary improvement.
