SCOPE OF ARCHITECT’S SERVICES. 1. The ARCHITECT’s services include those described in this Article and include structural, civil, mechanical and electrical engineering and landscape architecture services and any other services necessary to produce a reasonably complete and accurate set of Construction Documents defined as including, but not limited to, the following: The agreement between DISTRICT and contractor awarded the PROJECT (“Contractor”), general and supplementary conditions of the contract between DISTRICT and contractor, drawings, specifications, addenda and other documents listed in the agreement, and modifications issued after execution of the DISTRICT and Contractor Contract. 2. The ARCHITECT shall assist the DISTRICT in obtaining required approvals from governmental agencies responsible for electrical, gas, water, sanitary or storm sewer, telephone, public utilities, as well as the Division of the State Architect (DSA). 3. The ARCHITECT shall be responsible for determining the capacity of existing utilities, and/or for any design or documentation required to make points of connection to existing utility services that may be located on or off the PROJECT site and which are required for the PROJECT. 4. The ARCHITECT shall provide a PROJECT description which includes the DISTRICT’s needs, program and the requirements of the PROJECT prior to preparing preliminary designs for the PROJECT. 5. The ARCHITECT shall provide a written preliminary evaluation of the DISTRICT’s PROJECT schedule and construction budget requirements. Such evaluation shall include alternative approaches to design and construction of the PROJECT, evaluation and application of Educational specification requirements under Education Code Section 17251 and under Title 5, California Code of Regulations Section 14000 et seq. 6. The ARCHITECT shall provide planning surveys, site valuations and comparative studies of prospective sites, buildings or locations. 7. The ARCHITECT shall attend regular PROJECT coordination meetings between the ARCHITECT, its Consultants, the DISTRICT’s representative(s), and other Consultants of the DISTRICT during PROJECT development. 8. The ARCHITECT shall make revisions in Drawings, Specifications, the PROJECT Manual or other documents when such revisions are necessary due to the ARCHITECT’s failure to comply with approvals or instructions previously given by DISTRICT, including revisions made necessary by adjustments in the DISTRICT’s program or PROJECT Budget. 9. The ARCHITECT shall provide to the DISTRICT, on the terms herein set forth, all of the architectural, design and/or engineering services necessary to complete the PROJECT. The ARCHITECT’s services shall include those described in this AGREEMENT including all structural, civil, mechanical, plumbing and electrical (including low voltage electrical) engineering, landscape architecture services, fire suppression, acoustics, kitchen, estimating, and SWPPP Development and any other services necessary to produce a reasonably complete and accurate set of “Construction Documents,” and will also be in accordance with ARCHITECT’s proposal dated (TBD) and attached
SCOPE OF ARCHITECT’S SERVICES. §3.1 The Scope of Architect Services consists of the following: 1. Meet with Owner to review and confirm project scope, schedule, and overall goals of the assignment. 2. Complete the full 10-year life safety survey and Ten Year Safety Survey Report for the identified schools listed above per the required State of Illinois process and the provisions of the Health Life Safety Code and regulations. 3. Include the following items (as clarified in Exhibit A) and excluding the noted item: • Location of all fire walls and fire doors indicated on the plans along with identification of any compromised fire walls, fire doors, dampers, unprotected penetrations, etc. • Identification of all exhaust fans on plans along with noting any that are not in working condition. • Identification of any interior or exterior doors and hardware that need to be replaced. • Identification of roofs and confirmation of adequate, safe roof access or if better access needs to be added. • Identification of pool leaks and cracks that need to be repaired. • Identification of room numbers and missing room identification signage, and identification of rooms needing ADA signage. • Determination of “best” and “secondary” tornado shelter locations on plans. • Identification of area of rescue assistance and signage and communication needs therefor. • Determination of need for rescue chairs and whether these are present or need to be added. • Location of defibrillators on plans. • Location of fire detection devices and notification devices and identify systems which are not to current code or that need additional notification devices for ADA. • Identification of building security vestibules and identify buildings without secure vestibules & access portals/check-ins. • Environmental concerns. • Identification of areas with wire glazing still in place and recommendations regarding replacement with safety glass. • Analysis of plumbing fixture quantities versus Illinois Plumbing Code, including ADA compliance. • Identification of predominant domestic water piping materials, by building addition. • Identification of predominant electrical wiring materials, by building addition. • Identification of exterior sealants that need to be replaced. • The following do NOT need to be reviewed: • Inspection of Bleachers (recently completed). 4. SCOPE OF ARCHITECT’S SERVICES. 1. The ARCHITECT's services include those PROJECTS described in Attachment B of this Agreement. 2. The ARCHITECT shall provide services in connection with the work of the PM/CM and separate consultants retained by DISTRICT. 3. The ARCHITECT shall cooperate and consult with DISTRICT in use and selection of manufactured items on the PROJECT(S), including, but not limited to, paint, hardware, plumbing, mechanical and electrical equipment, fixtures, roofing materials, and floor coverings. All such manufactured items shall be standardized to DISTRICT's criteria to the extent such criteria do not interfere with PROJECT(S) design and are in compliance with the requirements of Public Contract Code §3400. 4. The duties, responsibilities and limitations of authority of the ARCHITECT shall not be restricted, modified or extended without written agreement between the DISTRICT and ARCHITECT. 5. The ARCHITECT shall comply with all federal, state and local laws, rules, regulations and ordinances that are applicable to the PROJECT. 6. The ARCHITECT shall have access to the work at all times.

SCOPE OF ARCHITECT’S SERVICES. The scope of the Architect's Services is described generally in this Agreement, and more specifically in each Task Order. The Architect shall exercise due professional care to perform its Services and provide documents that comply with the restrictions and requirements of applicable laws, rules and regulations of federal, state and local governmental and quasi-governmental agencies, authorities and funding sources having jurisdiction over or otherwise related to the project, utility companies, fire underwriters, and other parties disclosed by the Owner and otherwise known to the Architect or which, in the exercise of the best professional judgment of an independent architect retained by the Owner, should have been known to the Architect.

ARCHITECT shall comply with all applicable terms, conditions, requirements and duties set forth by the DOD Program. Specifically, the Grant Agreement between the District and the Department of Defense, which forms the basis of the DISTRICT’s funding from DOD Program, is incorporated into this AGREEMENT as Exhibit “A” (the “Grant Agreement”). In addition, the DOD Program creates specific requirements for architectural services and requires all contractors providing architectural services to comply with federal regulations. These regulations and requirements, include, but are not limited to, the Architectural Contract Requirement Checklist attached hereto as Exhibit “B” (“the Federal Checklist”). ARCHITECT shall comply with requirements necessary to ensure the PROJECT retains DOD Program funding and will provide all services necessary to ensure the PROJECT, the DISTRICT, and any and all contractors hired by the DISTRICT comply with all applicable federal regulations and DOD Program requirements including, but not limited to, those requirements as set forth in this AGREEMENT, the Grant Agreement, the Federal Checklist, and as established by any federal agency claiming jurisdiction over the PROJECT or the DOD Program. 3. The ARCHITECT shall assist the DISTRICT in obtaining required approvals from governmental agencies responsible for electrical, gas, water, sanitary or storm sewer, telephone, public utilities, as well as the Office of Public School Construction (OPSC), California Department of Education (CDE) and Division of the State Architect (DSA). The ARCHITECT shall be responsible for performing all of the services described in this Article II as well as those services identified in the ARCHITECT’s “PROPOSAL” which is attached hereto and incorporated herein by this reference as EXHIBIT “A”. In the event of a discrepancy, inconsistency, conflict or other difference between the terms of the PROPOSAL with this AGREEMENT, the PARTIES agree that the terms of this AGREEMENT shall be controlling.
