Scope of Article. The rights granted by this Article shall not be deemed exclusive of any other rights to which those seeking indemnification, contribution or advancement of expenses may be entitled under any statute, agreement, vote of disinterested Partners or disinterested Representatives or Alternates, both as to action in an indemnified capacity and as to action in any other capacity. The indemnification, contribution and advancement of expenses provided by or granted pursuant to this Article shall continue as to a Person who has ceased to be an indemnified representative in respect of matters arising prior to such time, and shall inure to the benefit of the heirs, executors, administrators, personal representatives, successors and permitted assigns of such a Person.

Scope of Article. The provisions of this article are intended to be a general introduction to this Agreement and are not intended to expand the scope of the Parties' obligations under this Agreement or to alter the plain meaning of the terms and conditions of this Agreement. For purposes of this transaction, HHSC, the single state agency designated to administer CHIP, is the contracting agency. References in this Agreement to the State are interpreted, as appropriate, to mean or include HHSC and other State agencies that may participate in the administration of CHIP; provided, however, that no provision will be interpreted to include any entity other than HHSC as the contracting agency.
Scope of Article. This Article applies to any unit member hired on or after July 1, 2007. This Article does not apply to any unit member hired prior to July 1, 2007, except that if such a member was paying Association dues under Article II, Section A, Paragraph 5 of this Agreement as of May 9, 2007 and subsequently opts out of Association membership under that provision, it is understood that deduction of a fair share fee under this Article will be implemented as to that unit member.
