Service-Connected Death. In the event of an Officer’s death in the course and scope of employment, over and above the City's life insurance/accidental insurance benefit, the City shall pay funeral expenses of $10,000 payable within 10 calendar days to the Officer's beneficiary as designated in the City's life insurance program and provide at no cost the Officer’s badge and service handgun to that beneficiary if otherwise legal.

Service-Connected Death. Surviving Spouse To the surviving spouse, a duty death pension equal to the same amount each week as that which has been paid him / her under the Worker's Compensation Act, to become due and payable on the termination of payments to him / her by the Township under the Worker's Compensation Act, and to continue for his / her life. However, if an Option One (1) retirement benefit exceeds the amount payable under the Workers' Compensation act, then the surviving spouse shall be paid an Option One (1) retirement benefit.
Service-Connected Death. In the event a bargaining unit member is killed in the line of duty, the City shall pay all funeral expenses up to a maximum of fifteen thousand dollars ($15,000).

  • Personal Illness or Disability The bargaining unit member may use all or any portion of his leave to recover from his/her own illness or disability.

  • TERMINATION OF EMPLOYMENT CONTRACT A. This Contract shall terminate, the Superintendent's employment will cease, and no compensation shall thereafter be paid, under any one of the following circumstances:

  • Resolving an Employment Relationship Problem The employee and employer should first make a reasonable effort to discuss the problem and settle it by mutual agreement. (If it’s a personal grievance, it must first be raised with the employer within 90 days - Personal Grievances are explained further below). An employee (or employer) has the right to be represented at any stage. When a problem arises, union members should contact their local NZEI Te Riu Roa field officer for advice and representation. Employers should contact NZSTA or other adviser/representative of choice.

  • DEPENDENT PERSONAL SERVICES 1. Subject to the provisions of Articles 16, 18 and 19, salaries, wages and other similar remuneration derived by a resident of a Contracting State in respect of an employment shall be taxable only in that State unless the employment is exercised in the other Contracting State. If the employment is so exercised, such remuneration as is derived therefrom may be taxed in that other State.

  • Service Period The Service Period of this Agreement is for 1 year in respect of the unit and starts on the Start Date as defined in the Terms and Conditions, or, in the case of an extension of renewal of the provision of Support Services, starts on the date of payment of the Charges.

  • School Year Employment If an employee is employed on the basis of a school year and such employment contemplates absences from the State payroll during the summer months or vacation periods scheduled by the Appointing Authority which occur during the regular school year, the employee shall nonetheless remain eligible for an Employer Contribution, provided that the employee appears on the regular payroll for at least one (1) working day in the payroll period immediately preceding such absences.

  • Cyclic Year Employment The Employer may fill a position with a cyclic year appointment for positions scheduled to work less than twelve (12) full months each year, due to known, recurring periods in the annual cycle when the position is not needed. At least fifteen (15) days before the start of each annual cycle, incumbents of cyclic year positions will be informed, in writing, of their scheduled periods of leave without pay in the ensuing cycle. Such periods of leave without pay will not constitute a break in service. When additional work is required of a cyclic position during a period for which the position was scheduled for leave without pay, the temporary work will be offered to the incumbent. The incumbent will be allowed at least three (3) working days in which to accept or decline the offer. Should the incumbent decline the work, it will be offered to other cyclic employees, in the same classification, with the necessary skills and abilities, in order of seniority, before being filled by other means.

  • STATEWIDE PAYEE DESK Contractor represents and warrants that it is registered with the Statewide Payee Desk, which registration is a condition to payment.
