Common use of Sick Leave Advance Clause in Contracts

Sick Leave Advance. In circumstances where sick leave would be authorized but the employee has insufficient or no sick leave credits, the Employer may grant the employee a sick leave advance to a limit of five (5) days which shall be charged against future credits as earned. If the employee dies before authorized unearned sick leave has been liquidated, no recovery shall be made from the employee’s estate. An employee is not eligible for sick leave with pay for any period during which he is on leave of absence without pay, or under suspension.
