(a) engage in and facilitate the Nurse’s personal preventative medical or dental care. Nurses shall advise their immediate supervisor when they become aware of their need for personal medical, dental care for a shift the Nurse is scheduled to work. Such leave shall not be unreasonably denied.
(b) . attend to emergencies where:
(i) the Nurse’s 's own medical or dental health is at an immediate and serious risk;
(ii) a member of the Nurse’s 's immediate family family, as defined in Article 4.06 4.17 who has become ill or disabled, in order to make alternate care arrangements where the Nurse’s 's personal attention is required and which could not be serviced by others or attended to by the Nurse outside of their his/her assigned shifts;
(iii) there is a critical condition (e.g. Fire, Flood) (excluding conditions included in Article 9.11 and 9.129.09) which requires the Nurse’s 's personal attention which could not be serviced by others or attended to by the Nurse outside of their his/her assigned shifts. .
(b) The Employer may require verification of the condition claimed.
(c) to attend to Medical and Dental appointments for their Immediate Family.
(d) Nurses shall endeavour to arrange for such appointments during off duty hours.

Sick Leave Medical/Dental; Family; Emergency. Nurses with sufficient sick leave credits shall be allowed paid leave of absence of up to a total of forty (40) 40 hours per annum (pro-rated for Part-Time Nurses Nurses, based on regular hours paid) debited against sick leave credits in order to:

(ii) a member spouse, child (step) or parent of the Nurse’s immediate family as defined in Article 4.06 Nurse who has become ill or disabled, in order to make alternate care arrangements where the Nurse’s personal attention is required and which could not be serviced by others or attended to by the Nurse outside of their assigned shifts;
(iii) there is a critical condition (e.g. Fire, Flood) (excluding conditions included in the Storm Leave Article 9.11 and 9.12) which requires the Nurse’s personal attention which could not be serviced by others or attended to by the Nurse outside of their assigned shifts. The Employer may require verification of the condition claimed.
(c) attend to Medical and Dental appointments for their spouse, child (step) or parent. Nurses shall endeavour to arrange for such appointments during off duty hours.
