Common use of Sick Leave Upon Retirement Clause in Contracts

Sick Leave Upon Retirement. Upon death, full service retirement, or disability retirement, an employee shall be paid up to one-half (1/2) of 1200 hours of accumulated sick leave to a maximum payout of 600 hours for 56-hour work week employees, or up to one-half (1/2) of 860 hours of accumulated sick leave to a maximum payout of 430 hours for 40- hour per week employees. Payment of unused sick leave hours shall be made at the employee’s actual hourly rate of pay.
