SINGING AND SPEAKING ROLES. An ARTIST shall be compensated $7.00 per performance for singing and/or speaking ten (10) words in a dance piece or dance work. An ARTIST who sings or speaks more than ten (10) words in a dance piece or dance work shall receive $30.00 per performance in addition to weekly contractual compensation.
SINGING AND SPEAKING ROLES. The Engager agrees that any Artist in a group of four (4) or less, required to sing or speak more than eight (8) bars of music or speak fifteen (15) scripted words or more in a ballet shall receive additional compensation at a rate no less than the amount as specified below for each such performance. SINGING AND SPEAKING ROLES. An ARTIST shall be compensated $7.00 per performance for making any utterance (e.g. making noise, yelling, etc.), singing and/or speaking one to ten (10) words in a dance piece or dance work. An ARTIST who utters, sings or speaks more than ten (10) words in a dance piece or dance work shall receive $30.00 per performance in addition to weekly contractual compensation. EMPLOYER shall meet with the AGMA Delegates concerning each ARTIST whom EMPLOYER requests to vocalize in any dance piece to determine the script and the exact number of words each ARTIST is being asked to vocalize in such dance piece. EMPLOYER shall prepare a written script after such meeting which shall state the exact words required to be vocalized by any such ARTIST and which shall state the number of words constituted thereby and the fee to be paid therefor. After review and upon agreement of the parties as to the number of words, the script prepared by EMPLOYER shall be signed by both EMPLOYER and such AGMA Delegates as evidence of the words to be vocalized and the applicable fee. Each Artist required to vocalize shall be provided with such script. EMPLOYER shall add such fee to the payroll check immediately following any such performance without any requirement by such ARTIST to file any “overtime” form or any other such form to request payment for singing and/or speaking roles. No ARTIST shall be requested to sing or speak any words in any dance piece unless a script has first been prepared and presented as provided above. No Artist shall receive compensation for vocalization without first receiving such script.
SINGING AND SPEAKING ROLES. The Employer agrees that each Dancer who shall be required to sing or speak lines in a ballet when such singing or speaking may be done by another person without injury to the structure or character of the ballet shall receive additional compensation at the rate of not less than Twenty-five dollars ($25.00) for each such performance.
SINGING AND SPEAKING ROLES a) An ARTIST shall receive the appropriate Singing and Speaking Role Fee, in addition to weekly contractual compensation for each performance in which the Artist is required to sing and/or speak.
b) If an ARTIST is called upon to perform a singing or speaking role, the ARTIST has the right to receive adequate and appropriate coaching paid for by the employer while preparing for the role.
c) The AGMA delegates have the right to waive this payment without application to AGMA. AGMA delegates will not unreasonably deny waivers of this provision provided that vocalization is of the entire group and dancers have the option to mouth the words, as opposed to vocalize.
SINGING AND SPEAKING ROLES. EMPLOYER may request ARTIST to sing or speak in a dance piece or dance work, and ARTIST has the right to accept or refuse said request. ARTIST’s compensation for singing or speaking shall be as follows:
(a) 1 – 10 words $7.00 per performance
(b) 11 words or more $31.00 per performance An exception will be allowed for the New Works Festival program, in which case, ARTIST may be asked to sing or speak 1-5 words with no additional compensation due (ARTIST’s participation is still voluntary). For 6 or more words, additional compensation shall be due according to rules “a” and “b” above.
SINGING AND SPEAKING ROLES. EMPLOYER shall compensate an ARTIST who sings or speaks ten (10) words or more (except background noise; e.g., Black Cake) in a ballet or dance work sixteen dollars and fifteen cents ($16.15) per Performance in addition to all other compensation owed such ARTIST.

1. When an Artist, after completing seven (7) years of service or more, leaves the EMPLOYER, regardless of circumstances, such Artist will be entitled to exit pay of no less than one (1) current performance week’s salary, for each year of service up to fifteen (15) years of service that the Artist has worked at least twenty (20) weeks, beginning with the date of employment.
2. When an Artist, after completing five (5) years or more of service retires as a full time performer from the field of professional ballet, or is non reengaged, such Artist shall be entitled to exit pay of no less than one (1) current performance week’s salary for each year of service up to fifteen (15) years of service that the Artist has worked at least twenty (20) weeks, beginning with the first date of employment.
3. Payments made under this Paragraph will be made by the final payroll date of said Artist’s regular season.
SINGING AND SPEAKING ROLES. EMPLOYER shall compensate an ARTIST who sings or speaks fifty (50) words or more (except background noise) in a ballet or dance work a payment according to the Additional Compensation Table in SECTION V.A.1 above per Performance in addition to all other compensation owed such ARTIST.
SINGING AND SPEAKING ROLES. In the event that the EMPLOYER requires an ARTIST to sing or speak and the EMPLOYER deems it necessary for the ARTIST to have additional training, the EMPLOYER will engage experts in the appropriate fields and such additional training will be scheduled as rehearsal time.
