Software License Restrictions Clause Samples

The Software License Restrictions clause defines the limitations placed on how licensed software can be used by the licensee. Typically, this clause prohibits actions such as reverse engineering, copying, modifying, sublicensing, or distributing the software beyond what is expressly permitted in the agreement. For example, it may restrict the use of the software to a specific number of users or devices, or forbid its use for commercial purposes if only a personal license is granted. The core function of this clause is to protect the intellectual property rights of the software owner and prevent unauthorized or unintended uses of the software.
