Summary of GIS Interoperability. In this sub-chapter, motivation and main problems at GIS interoperability has been addressed. Internet gives contribution to move from traditional single GIS system to distributed GIS system. Interoperability in distributed GIS is needed to face current problem. Some approach for GIS interoperabil- ity has been introduced from low level to information level. This sub-chapter is focusing on interoperability with semantic mediation. GeoNis, BUSTER and SemWeb give a good approach for GIS interoperability by using semantic mediation. Emerging solution between semantic mediation, GIS interoperability and P2P can occurred to deliver better solution. PSW and ▇▇▇▇▇▇ cons tribute idea to put these solutions in GIS interoperability. Semantic problem and ontology is still the important part for this emerging model.
