TEACHER CONFERENCES. In an effort to continually encourage teacher education and to insure awareness of new techniques and materials, teachers will be allowed to attend conferences upon proper application. The District will cover the cost of the substitute for the teacher, the teacher's salary, and the approved conference fees and travel expenses. The District will approve only educational conferences. Written application for such education conference shall be made to the immediate supervisor at least one (1) month in advance. The purpose of the conference and the costs shall be explained. The immediate supervisor will forward such application to the Superintendent with a written recommendation. The District shall grant final approval/disapproval, judging each application on its individual merits and the availability of Board of Education approved substitute teachers. Unit members required by the District to attend a conference will be given seven (7) days notice.
TEACHER CONFERENCES. Elementary conference dates will be scheduled as five (5) consecutive half (½) day sessions during both the fall and the spring conference dates. Secondary conference dates will be scheduled as three consecutive half (1/2) day sessions during the fall and spring conference dates given two of these days will be evening conferences. Each employee will be allowed to make his/her own personal plan for conference week and have it preapproved by his/her building principal. The employee then may leave as soon as school is out, on the day of his/her choice during that week.
TEACHER CONFERENCES. All parents should meet with their child’s teacher twice during the school year. We encourage you to have conferences more often as effective communication is one of the cornerstones of education. Please call your child’s teacher to schedule conferences. We will work as a staff to facilitate the scheduling of conferences after 1st, 2nd, and 3rd quarters.
