Common use of Termination of Operations Clause in Contracts

Termination of Operations. Upon the commencement of an operation for the drilling, Reworking, Sidetracking, Plugging Back, Deepening, testing, Completion, or plugging of a well, including but not limited to the Initial Well, the operation shall not be terminated without consent of parties bearing 51% of the costs of the operation; provided, however, that in the event granite or other practically impenetrable substance or condition in the hole is encountered which renders further operations impractical, Operator may discontinue operations and give notice of the condition in the manner provided in Article VI.B.1., and the provisions of Article VI.B. or VI.E. shall then apply to the operation, as appropriate.
