When students in the college desire to participate responsibly in the government of the institution they attend, their wish should be recognized as a claim to opportunity both for the educational experience and for involvement in the affairs of their college. 2. Students expect, and have the right to expect, that the educational process will be structured, that they will be stimulated by it to become independent citizens, and that they will have effectively transmitted to them the cultural heritage of the large society. 3. If institutional support is to have its fullest possible meaning, it should incorporate the strength, freshness of view and idealism of the student body.
