Translation. 2.6.1 Xxxxxxx who are already employed by the employer and join the union, shall remain on their current salary, so long as it is within the correct salary band for the position. Movement onto a step shall occur at the next annual progression date as per clause 2.3 (this clause does not apply to kaimahi at UCOL and Open Polytechnic). 2.6.2 Xxxxxxx whose salary is below the minimum of the relevant band will have their salary increased to the first step in the relevant band upon joining the union. 2.6.3 Xxxxxxx whose salary is above the maximum of the relevant band will: a) Receive a “translation allowance” equal to the difference between the top of the band and their current salary to be abated (either in part or in full) by negotiated increases annually. b) Not be entitled to progression within the salary band until their salary is within band.
