Common use of Trial Service Period Upon Promotion Clause in Contracts

Trial Service Period Upon Promotion. An employee who is promoted to a different classification shall be subject to a six (6) month trial service period to demonstrate the abilities and capacity to perform the duties of the classification. The trial service period may be extended up to an additional six (6) months. If a promoted employee does not satisfactorily complete his/her trial service period, he/she shall be restored to his/her previous position held, per the process outlined in Article 10. If no position is available, the employee will be placed upon a recall list and will be recalled to the first available position pursuant to Article 10.3.
