UNION MEMBERSHIP, SECURITY AND CHECK-OFF. 5.01 Membership in the Union shall be voluntary on the part of each Employee. All Employees covered by this Collective Agreement who are members of the Union at the time of signing of this Collective Agreement, or who, in the future, decide to become members of the Union, shall, as a condition of employment, maintain their membership in the Union during the life of this Collective Agreement.
(a) The Employer shall deduct from the wages of Employees covered by this Collective Agreement an amount equal to the monthly Union dues in a manner which is in keeping with the payroll system in effect with the Employer. In all instances such deductions shall be forwarded to the Union not later than the fifteenth (15th) day of the following month in which the dues were deducted. Such deductions shall be accompanied by a list which shall indicate each Employee's name and the amount deducted from each Employee.
(b) The Employer shall provide to the Union, on a quarterly basis, a list of Employees specifying the following information:
(i) Name;
(ii) Date of hire;
(iii) Mailing address on file;
(iv) Telephone number on file;
(v) Current Full-time Equivalent (FTE);
(vi) Classification;
(vii) Temporary end date, and
(viii) Status (Regular Full-time, Regular Part-Time, Casual or Temporary)
5.03 The Employer shall provide to the Union on a quarterly basis a listing of all terminated Employees in the previous months, inclusive of the Employee name and the Employee number.
5.04 The Employer shall note the individual union dues deducted and enter the amount on T-4 slips issued for income tax purposes.
5.05 The Union shall provide the Employer with sixty (60) calendar days’ notice of changes in the amounts of dues deductions.
UNION MEMBERSHIP, SECURITY AND CHECK-OFF. (a) The Employer agrees to remit to the Central Office of the Union, the dues that have been deducted from the pay of all Employees monthly, within two (2) banking days of the beginning of the following month. Where an accounting adjustment is necessary to correct an over or under payment of dues, it shall be effected in the succeeding month.
(b) The Employer shall provide the Union with a computerized monthly list identifying each Employee. The list will include Employee name, address, start date, classification, hourly rate of pay, seniority, work location, dues deducted, gross earnings and Employees on long-term absence status.
(c) The Employer agrees to provide a seniority report, by status, upon request by the Union showing the Employee name, Employee address, Employee phone number, Employee status, Employee seniority date, and classification code.
6.02 The Union agrees to indemnify and save the Employer harmless from any form of liability arising from or as a result of the deduction of authorized dues, fees or assessments, unless caused by Employer error.
6.03 The Employer will, as a condition of employment, deduct from the base earnings of each Employee covered by this Collective Agreement, an amount equal to the dues as determined by the Union.
6.04 The Union shall advise the Employer, in writing, of any change in the amount of dues to be deducted from the Employees covered by this Collective Agreement. Such notice shall be communicated to the Employer at least thirty (30) days prior to the effective date of change.

In all instances such deductions shall be forwarded to the Secretary-Treasurer of the Union not later than the fifteenth (15th) day of the following month in which the dues were deducted. Such deductions shall be accompanied by a list which indicate each employee's and the deducted from each employee. The Employer will note the individual union dues deduct d and enter the on slips issued for income tax purposes. A representative of the Union shall have the right to make a presentation of up to thirty (30) minutes at the orientation of new employees with respect to the structure of the Local, as well as the rights, responsibilities and benefits under the Collective Agreement; provided, however, that attendance at the presentation shall not be compulsory, provided further, that a representative of Employer may be present at such presentation.
UNION MEMBERSHIP, SECURITY AND CHECK-OFF. 5.01 As a condition of continued employment, all employees hired, rehired, reinstated, or transferred (someone returning to the bargaining unit), shall be required to complete and sign an application for Union membership and authorization of a payroll deduction of monthly Union dues and initiation fees. The Employer will give this application to an employee and it will be completed on their start date.
5.02 During the orientation offered to new employees and within two (2) weeks of any newly hired employee’s first (1st) day of work, the Employer will provide to the Union thirty (30) minutes for a meeting between the newly hired employee and the Union representative for a Union orientation on time paid for by the Employer. The Union membership application will be provided by the Employer, and must be completed on their first (1st) day of work.
5.03 During the life of this Agreement, after receiving written authorization from the employee, the Employer will deduct from the earnings of each employee covered by this Agreement, Union dues prescribed by the constitution and by- laws of the Union. On the last pay period of each month and prior to the fifteenth (15th) day of the following month, the Employer shall remit to the Union the total of the deductions made and provide a list of those members who have had Union dues deducted. The Employer will provide details to the Union in situations where no or where incorrect deductions have been made. In the unlikely event of any error, the Employer shall make corrections immediately and to the satisfaction of the Union.
5.04 The Employer will supply a list of employees covered by this Agreement upon written request with a minimum of three (3) months’ notice.
5.05 The Employer agrees to forward to the Union office, on a semi-annual basis, information relating to employees, including:
(i) Name (ii) Addresses
UNION MEMBERSHIP, SECURITY AND CHECK-OFF. 6.01 Membership in the Union is mandatory for all Employees covered under this Collective Agreement and is also a condition of employment. Within seven (7) School days of ratification, the Employer shall schedule meetings with Employees on company time. A Union representative shall be present at the meetings. The Employer, at these meetings, shall require each Employee to fill out all necessary documentation to secure Union membership.
6.02 During the orientation offered to new Employees in Article

5.02 With each remittance made under Clause 5.01 above, the Employer shall provide information in a printed form or by electronic file showing the Employee name, Employee address, Employee phone number, current wage rate, current dues deducted, paid hours in the reporting period, and gross earnings in the reporting period.
5.03 The Union agrees to indemnify and save the Employer harmless from any form of liability arising from, or as a result of, the deduction of authorized dues, fees or assessments, unless caused by Employer error.

5.05 The Employer will record the amount of individual dues deducted on T-4 slips issued for income tax purposes.
UNION MEMBERSHIP, SECURITY AND CHECK-OFF. 5.01 The Employer agrees to retain in its employ within the bargaining unit, as outlined in Article 2 of this Agreement, only members of the Union in good standing. The Employer shall be free to hire new employees who are not members of the Union; provided said non-members, whether a part- time or full-time employee, shall be eligible for membership in the Union and shall make application within ten (10) days after employment and become members within thirty (30) days.
UNION MEMBERSHIP, SECURITY AND CHECK-OFF. 6.01 All Employees have the right:
(a) to be members of the Union and to participate in its lawful activities;
(b) to bargain collectively with the Employer through the Union; (c) to voluntary membership in the Union.

The Employer, at these meetings, shall require each employee to fill out all necessary documentation to secure Union membership. A Union representative shall be present at the meetings and will be scheduled with the Union’s availability in mind.
UNION MEMBERSHIP, SECURITY AND CHECK-OFF. Employer shall deduct from the wages of Employees covered by this Collective Agreement an amount equal to the monthly Union dues in a manner which is in keeping with the payroll system in effect for the Employer. In all instances such deductions shall be forwarded to the Secretary-Treasurerof the Union not later than the fifteenth day of the following month in which the dues were deducted. Such deductions shall be accompanied by a list which shall indicate each Employee's name and the amount deducted from each Employee. Within sixty (60) days of ratification of the Agreement, the Employer shall provide the Union with a list of the names, addresses, status, classification of Employees and annually thereafter, The Employer shall provide the Union with names, addresses, status and classification of any newly hired Employee. The Union agrees to indemnify and save the Employer harmless from any form of liability arising from or as a result of the deduction of authorized dues, fees or assessments, unless caused by Employer error. The Employer will, as a condition of employment, deduct from the base earnings of each Employee covered by this Collective Agreement, an amount equal to the dues as determined by the Union. The Union shalladvise the Employer, in writing, of any change in the amount of dues to be deducted from the Employees covered by this Collective Agreement. Such notice shall be communicated to the Employer at least thirty (30) days prior to the effective date of change. Deductions of amounts equal to the dues for all employees shall commence with the first pay period of employment. The Employer will record the amount of individual dues deducted on slips issued for income tax purposes.
