UNIVERSITY CALENDAR. 207. The regular academic year shall consist of two semesters, each of which shall be a maximum of 16 calendar weeks in duration. All academic instruction (including examinations) will be completed within said 16 week period except that the winter semester may be extended by one week to accommodate a winter break. At least one study day shall immediately follow the last day of instruction. For the fall semester commencing with the 2014-15 academic year, see Appendix I.

UNIVERSITY CALENDAR. 11.4.1. Annual academic calendars shall be ratified by the University and the Faculty Association’s Executive Council. 11.4.2. The regular academic year shall consist of two semesters, one week for fall assemblies and activities, and two days following each semester for grading, assessment, and department/school meetings. Each semester shall have at least 70 scheduled instructional days, followed by five days for final examinations. A regular scheduled hour of instruction is 50 minutes. Each examination shall be scheduled for 120 minutes with 30 minutes between each examination. The Fall Semester shall end before Christmas Day. Classes for the Spring Semester shall begin after New Year's Day. The Spring Semester shall have a week-long break. Graduation shall be scheduled following the Spring Semester's final examination period. Fall and Spring semester grades shall not be due before 5pm on the Tuesday following the end of the semester. 11.4.3. To preserve the flexibility needed in the scheduling of summer classes, the Association waives, for the duration of this Agreement, negotiation of summer calendars provided the hours of instruction are comparable to those scheduled during the regular academic year. 11.4.4. Each graduate hour will meet for fourteen (14) hours of instruction plus the final exam period.

If Labor Day falls before September 5, classes shall begin at 5pm the following day; otherwise classes shall begin at 7:30am on the Thursday before Labor Day. b. Classes shall end on the Saturday in December which falls 14 weeks after the beginning of classes. The following day is the official study day. c. Final exams shall be held the following week, Monday through Saturday, with grades due from faculty no later than 5pm on the Monday following the end of final exams. d. Commencement shall be no later than the Saturday following the end of final exams. Classes for the winter semester shall begin after New Year's Day, include a week-long break following the seventh week of classes and the semester shall end no later than April 30. In addition to the regular academic year, summer sessions shall be scheduled and shall include both a sixteen-week session and two eight-week sessions. Further, Oakland may schedule individual classes at times different from the normal semesters and sessions. If Oakland promulgates a calendar extending beyond the current Agreement, the Association reserves the right to bargain changes in said calendar during subsequent contract negotiations.
UNIVERSITY CALENDAR. A. The President shall promulgate, after consultation with the Faculty Association, no later than January 1 of each year, a three year University Calendar. The calendar shall list dates of activities of the University community. These activities shall include but not be limited to: 1. Orientation 2. Registration 3. Deadlines for Withdrawals 4. Study periods 5. Final Examinations 6. Submission of Grades 7. Removal of Incompletes 8. Convocations - student and faculty 9. Meetings of Board of Trustees, Faculty Association, and Faculty Senate 10. Deadlines for submission of schedules 11. Holidays, Semester and Spring Recesses 12. Beginning and end of semesters.

  • School Calendar The Dual Credit course schedule will be determined by the location of the course delivery, provided that the required contact hours and prerequisites are met. The instructional calendar for the high school portion of the School will be based on the School District calendar and comply with all related TEA regulations for school attendance. The School District will adjust its schedule as necessary to enable Students to enroll in and attend the college- level courses provided by College. The School District and College will coordinate the State Student assessment requirements to ensure said assessments are administered without penalty. The School District, School and College will ensure that the School calendar accounts for the required per-semester contact hours for courses. When the instructional delivery is on the College site, it may be necessary for Students to attend classes on days when the School District is closed (e.g., different holiday closures). When Students take classes at the College scheduled on days when School is closed, the School District will ensure that at least one staff member with administrative authority be on call and available to be reached by the College’s Office of High School Programs or other College staff in case of emergency. The designated School staff member will have access to Student emergency contact information. While the College agrees to make scheduling accommodations for required State assessments, including the STAAR and End of Course Exams, all contact hour requirements must be met. For assessments not mandated by the State, the College and School District will come to a mutual agreement on administration dates in order to appropriately manage disruptions of college courses and ensure contact hour requirements are met.

  • Academic Calendar The academic calendar of each university shall be established by the President. Prior to establishing or making changes in the calendar, the President/designee shall afford opportunity to meet and confer with the Association.

  • Calendar Year Calendar Year" for the purposes of this Agreement shall mean the twelve (12) month period from January 1st to December 31st, inclusive.

  • ALTERNATE SCHOOL CALENDAR 1. In this article, an alternative school calendar is a school calendar that differs from the standard school calendar as specified in Schedule 1 (Supplement) of the School Calendar Regulation 114/02. 2. When a school district intends to implement an alternate school calendar, written notification shall be provided to the local no later than forty (40) working days prior to its implementation. The employer and the local shall meet within five (5) working days following receipt of such notice to negotiate modifications to the provisions of the agreement that are directly or indirectly affected by the proposed change(s). The aforesaid modifications shall preserve, to the full legal extent possible, the original intent of the agreement. 3. The process outlined below in Article D.6.4 through Article D.
