Use of Employee Car. ‌ (a) An employee shall obtain the permission of the Employer prior to using the employee's own vehicle for the Employer's business. (b) Vehicle allowance for all kilometres travelled on the Employer's business shall be paid to employees who are required to use their own vehicles in the performance of their duties. (c) Vehicle allowances shall be paid only on submission of the approved travel form signed by the employee and approved by her supervisor. (d) Where an employee is required to use her automobile for the Employer's business, the employee must conform to the regulations of the Insurance Corporation of BC and carry the appropriate class of insurance. (e) Where the ICBC regulations require the employee to carry business class insurance, the Employer shall pay the premium difference between business class and the next lower class, on submission of documentation of that premium difference certified as correct by the employee's immediate supervisor. (f) Employees using their own car for the Employer's business shall receive 52¢ per kilometre. (g) An employee shall not normally be required to transport children in their own vehicle.
