Common use of Xxxx Leave – Maternity Clause in Contracts

Xxxx Leave – Maternity. An employee may utilize accumulated sick leave during any period of illness related to a pregnancy and/or related to the delivery of the child. If such employee shall have exhausted accumulated sick leave, the employee shall be granted a leave of absence without pay or other benefits during such period of illness provided, however, that such disability leave shall not exceed one (1) year in duration. Such employee shall return to employment immediately following the termination of such illness. Should the employee not choose to request a leave of absence, the employee may elect to access the Family Medical Leave Act, Section 4-1 of the Collective Bargaining Agreement.
