Xxxxxxx Layoff. Discharge Contractor agrees to notify the appropriate Union twenty- four (24) hours before the layoff of a xxxxxxx, except in the case of disciplinary discharge for just cause. If the xxxxxxx is protected against such layoff by the provisions of the applicable Master Labor Agreement, such provisions shall be recognized when the xxxxxxx possesses the necessary qualifications to perform the remaining work. In any case in which the xxxxxxx is discharged or disciplined for just cause, the appropriate Union will be notified immediately by the Contractor, and such discharge or discipline shall not become final (subject to any later filed grievance) until twenty-four (24) hours after such notice has been given.
Xxxxxxx Layoff. TERMINATE - W hen the Company for any reason finds it necessary to lay off or terminate a Shop Xxxxxxx, the Business Representative of the Union shall be notified prior to such termination.
